Customers using this service can now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/view-driving-licence\"><u>view<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/view-driving-licence\"><u>share<\/u><\/a> and <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/check-driving-information\">check<\/a>\u00a0<\/u>their driving licence without the hassle of an extra bit of paper.\u00a0 The launch of this service marked the culmination of months of hard work from the team at DVLA and to date, more than 1 million customers a month are using the service.\u00a0\u00a0Our digital services are built on saving customers&#8217; time and this is exactly what this service does.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/view-driving-licence\"><u>Share Driving Licence<\/u><\/a> was the nominated service in both categories \u2013 this part of the service puts the customer in the driving seat (pardon the pun) and enables them to share their details, easily and safely.\u00a0 We were in good company in this category competing with the Home Office, Surrey Council and The Metropolitan Police.<\/p>\n<p>Sitting in the audience with bated breath alongside the team was our Chief Executive Oliver Morley and Non-Executive chair Lesley Cowley.\u00a0 Walking up to get the award with everyone was an amazing experience \u2013 it went by in an excited blur and then it was straight into an interview with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.computerweekly.com\/photostory\/450298597\/Digital-Leaders-100-Awards-2016-winners\/1\/Digital-Public-Service-Innovation-of-the-Year\"><u>Computer Weekly magazine<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The evening ended on the highest of high when we were announced as the winner of the overall award, Digital Leaders 100.\u00a0 This catapults DVLA to the top of the digital leader tree and it\u2019s an accolade that we are immensely proud of.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s not the end though \u2013 as I said in my last <a href=\"https:\/\/dvladigital.blog.gov.uk\/2016\/01\/12\/share-driving-licence-goes-live\/\"><u>blog<\/u><\/a>, we continue to look at customer feedback to improve the service and offer even more value to our customers.\u00a0 Watch this space.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DVLA cleaned up at the 2016 Digital Leaders 100 awards ceremony scooping the Digital Public Sector Innovation and the overall Digital Leaders 100 Award.
