Digital Adoption within the SME sector: Greater Collaboration needed<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

The recently published \u201cLloyds Bank UK Business Digital Index\u201d reported that there are still 1.4m small businesses lacking basic digital skills and 78% of sole traders currently invest no money in improving their digital skills capability.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At the quarterly meeting held at City Hall, London on the 20th<\/sup> January 17, the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Digital Leaders LEP Digital Group<\/a>\u00a0heard from key stakeholders and organisations that have developed and launched innovative projects and campaigns to try and encourage more SMEs to adopt digital into their businesses. LEP Group members also shared their own regional experiences of what is working best and there was a general discussion on how to overcome the current challenges faced in engaging regionally based small businesses.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the spirit of collaboration, the group explored effective ways in which to join the dots and ensure the private and public sector work together to avoid regional silos and develop more innovative partnerships that will help tackle the big issue of the digital divide within the SME sector.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
