mixed coloured<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s4\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\"><b>Method<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Make everyone feel welcome with great refreshments, an inspiring environment and good opening chat<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Friendly and insightful start to the event to make sure everyone is on the same page<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Presentation 1 and Q &amp; A from Learning Link Glasgow<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Allow a little time to take in the enormity of the achievements in their digital journey (and what they still want to achieve) &#8211; and grab a cuppa<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Presentation 2 and Q &amp; A from Art in Healthcare<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Allow further time for reflection and comparison between the two different stories<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Choose key themes to discuss (in this case Strategy Implementation, Social Media, Networks and Tools and Apps)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Break out into small groups (with more refreshments)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Get down to the hard work of analysing challenges, how we overcome them and what works in different situations<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Results<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">The perfect mix of celebration, inspiration and re-assurance that the group were part of a change movement. <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">A range of new contacts and relationships firmly made<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Two hours of time well invested<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">An appetite for more<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Conclusion \u2013 or cook\u2019s notes \u2026<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Okay, it\u2019s not quite as easy as suggested above.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We are after all working with people, not culinary ingredients, so the change process leans more towards art than science.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>However key themes coming from the session included<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Leadership is critical<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s4\">Be bold, s<\/span><span class=\"s1\">et the general direction and give clarity<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Give space for curiosity, innovation and experimentation<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Get support from others, ideally one or two Trustees from your own organization<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Develop a network of likeminded people and support each other<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Remember this is about people first, not digital first<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">It\u2019s okay not to know all the answers \u2013 see the third point above<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Bite off what you can chew, and then just a tiny bit more<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Beneficiaries \/ Service Users \/ Customers<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Put them at the heart of all the changes you\u2019re making<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Don\u2019t make assumptions about where people are at and how they \u2018might\u2019 like to receive support.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Ask them, involve them.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Workforce<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Create a network of supported colleagues &#8211; they will bring peers along with them <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Put discussion and review process in place giving people ownership and leadership<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Training must sit alongside the change process<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Time devoted to encourage creativity and the boldness that you bring<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Try different approaches, test, learn, keep some things and leave other things behind<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">There are lots of resources out there &#8211; use them.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Don\u2019t reinvent the wheel<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s7\"><b>Environment<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li6\"><span class=\"s7\">Be open<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li6\"><span class=\"s7\">Encourage and reward a learning environment \u2013 nothing is failure, it\u2019s all learning<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li6\"><span class=\"s7\">Talk about what you\u2019re doing (lots)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li6\"><span class=\"s7\">Create space and time for experimentation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s7\"><b>Tech, data and processes<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Use the <a href=\"http:\/\/charitycatalogue.com\/\"><span class=\"s3\">free stuff<\/span><\/a> that\u2019s out there<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Focus on data driven changes (with the addition of expert analysis)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Be agile, in a way that works for you<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Look for scalable, flexible solutions <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">To explore these issues further
