For this reason, digitally savvy fundraisers often need to have strong skills in digital project management.<\/p>\n<h4>Data analysis<\/h4>\n<p>Fundraisers are turning to big data in a big way. But it does take an innovative fundraiser to recognise the opportunity and how they can be set up.<\/p>\n<p>A great example is the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.diabetes.org.uk\/get_involved\/fundraising-events\/million-step\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Diabetes UK \u2018One Million Walk\u2019<\/a>, where supporters were asked to take a million steps over three months which they logged through their phones or fitness devices and a special online tracking page that doubled as a donation page.<\/p>\n<p>Some charities, like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fightforsight.org.uk\/get-involved\/events\/journey-to-the-centre-of-the-eye\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Fight for Sight and its \u2018Journey to the Centre of the Eye\u2019<\/a> have pitched their event like a \u2018virtual race\u2019 that involves an immersive audio experience where supporters race against each others\u2019 times.<\/p>\n<h4>User experience<\/h4>\n<p>Today\u2019s audience expect a personalised, easy and seamless experience, no matter what device or channel they are using.
